About the Storytellers
Joanna Brooks is an award-winning scholar of religion and American culture. The author of The Book of Mormon Girl, she is a senior correspondent for the on-line magazine ReligionDispatches.org and has been named one of “50 Politicos to Watch” by Politico.com. She writes the popular Ask Mormon Girl blog. Kendall Wilcox is an independent documentary producer. He is currently working on Far Between, a film about understanding the experiences of gay Mormons. For that film, he has conducted dozens of interviews, many of which can be found at the film’s facebook page:: facebook.com/farbetweenmovie. Meg Morley Walter writes on her blog, I Should Be Deserving To Be To Mars, a favorite of Porch producer Derrick Clements. Just try to read only one post, he says. Gina Colvin is a “lecturer” at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand, where she teaches cultural critical studies. She writes about Mormonism and culture on her blog, Kiwi Mormon. Rachel Miller graduated from BYU in 2010 with a BA in English. She currently teaches English as a Second Language at Selnate International School in Provo. Rachel loves traveling, dancing, and playing the piano. She and her husband Ben are learning to cook things that require more than one pot and a can of tuna.
